Becoming a Member
Our active membership is all voluntary and members give of their time freely to assist and educate the general boating public.
There are two levels of memberships available: Operational and Associate Members
If you are interested in becoming an operational member, either as crew or radio operators, or an associate member, please contact the Commander on 9410 1544 or 0409 103 029.
Active members are made of up two groups: boat crews and radio operators.
Our boat crew members are required to complete various courses to ensure a high level of competency is maintained within the group.
Our radio operators hold Marine Radio Operators Certificates of Proficiency. Our radio room operates from 0800 to 1700 when our home base stations take over radio watch.
The cost for an active membership is $10 per year.
Associate members have the piece of mind of knowing an efficient and effective team of dedicated volunteers are there to aid them in times of need.
Boat owners receive a radio membership callsign, which they use to logon and off when using their boats. This personal callsign identifies them as a group member with the necessary personal information held on our membership database. This allows for quick support should it become necessary.The cost of an associate membership is $35 per year including GST. This cost helps us to cover our administration costs.
