Our Rescue Boats

Avail_III

Our principal rescue vessel, Avail III,  is a  9.5 metre LeisureCat with twin outboard Mariner supercharged motors. 

Avail III is a dedicated rescue vessel located at the Cockburn Power Boat Association's grounds and is always available for callouts at any time and in emergency situations. 

It is equipped with Radar, GPS, 27meg & VHF marine radios along with radio direction finding equipment to assist locating vessels.

Our secondary rescue vessel, Woodman 001 is a 6.8 metre aluminium centre console with a V6 mercruiser stern drive motor.

It is equipped with similar equipment to Avail III and is also available at any should the need arise.

We carry a comprehensive range of medical equipment including oxygen, first aid equipment and other associated equipment to effectively carry out rescues in an efficient manner.  Also carried on board is a pump suitable for pumping out vessels or in the event of a fire can also be used to extinguish the fire.

New Boat Project

Avail_III

We presently have a project underway to replace AVAIL III.  The new boat is a 9 meter catamaran under construction at Westcat Marine fitted with twin 315Hp Yanmar Diesel engines with Bravo 2 legs.  The vessel has 2 x 600 Litre fuel tanks to provide us with a long range and being built to survey standards.

The vessel is due to be commisioned for the coming boating season.
